Richard L. Chelpka

Richard ChelpkaMr. Chelpka is well known as an educator, adjudicator, and clinician. Prior to his recent retirement, he was the district orchestra specialist for the Mesa Public Schools. As a violinist, he performed with both the West Valley Symphony and the Symphony of the Southwest.



Roberta Chorlton

Roberta ChorltonRoberta Chorlton has a MM from Peabody Conservatory. During summers at Aspen and the Music Academy of the West, she received chamber music coaching from Jaap Schroeder, Lilian Fuchs and Gabor Rejto. A sought after private teacher, Roberta studied violin and baroque performance practice in Vienna, performing with the Eduard Melkus Ensemble and the Musica Antiqua Wien.

Patricia Cosand

Patricia CosandMember of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra for ten years, principal violist of the Arizona Opera Orchestra 1990 – 2007. B.A. from California State University Fresno, M.M. from Arizona State University, currently Associate Principal Viola of Symphony of the Southwest.

Cal Stewart Kellogg

Cal KelloggFormerly the Principal Conductor of the Arizona Opera, Maestro Kellogg is currently music director of both Symphony of the Southwest and the West Valley Symphony. He holds degrees in Bassoon, Composition and Conducting from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, Rome, Italy.

Jamie KelloggReceived her BM & MM from Arizona State University. She is a member of the Fiori String Quartet and a highly regarded local private cello instructor.



Dr. Daniel Swaim

Dan SwaimDr. Daniel Swaim received degrees from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Indiana University, and the University of North Texas. As Professor Emeritus of Double Bass at Arizona State University, he has many former students who perform in professional orchestras in the USA and in Europe. Robert Strava

Robert StravaDr. Strava holds the degrees of B of Music, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts. His teachers include Eugene Lombardi, Berl Senofsky and Allen Ohmes. Until his recent retirement, he was a long-time member of the Phoenix Symphony.



Philip Carr

Philip CarrPhilip Carr teaches voice at Grand Canyon University and maintains a private voice studio in Phoenix, AZ. He studied voice and choral Conducting at ASU, and has served as Choral Director at Grand Canyon University and Arizona Christian University.
